Pandahstone is a management consultancy based in Kisumu, focused on measurable outcomes for East African organisations.
The work we do and the clients we serve
Pandahstone was founded in Kisumu in 2017 by a small group of consultants who had spent the previous decade working for large international firms and grown frustrated by the same pattern: elaborate frameworks delivered to clients who lacked the internal capacity to act on them. We built Pandahstone around a different proposition — that consulting is only worth paying for if the organisation ends up in a measurably better position. We work with mid-size private sector companies, SACCOs, agribusinesses, and public sector bodies primarily in Kenya, with engagements also conducted in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Our clients are typically organisations with 50 to 500 staff, led by leadership teams that are technically capable but stretched across too many competing priorities to do the strategic thinking their businesses need. The services we offer cover four disciplines: strategy, operations, transformation, and advisory. Each is designed to produce a specific, nameable outcome — a roadmap, a set of savings, a change programme that holds, or a reliable external perspective on decisions. We don't offer marketing, HR recruitment, IT implementation, or legal services.
How we work — and what makes the difference
Every Pandahstone engagement starts with a structured discovery phase before we propose anything. We interview stakeholders at multiple levels — not just the executive sponsor — because the most useful information about why a business is stuck often lives two levels below the leadership team. Since 2017, we have completed over 60 engagements across six sectors. Our consultants have worked inside financial services institutions, manufacturing businesses, county government offices, and NGO programme teams, which means we arrive with sector-specific vocabulary and benchmarks rather than generic frameworks. We work in an azure-trust style that clients describe as direct and evidence-led — clear thinking presented without unnecessary complexity. We don't pad reports to look comprehensive. We don't recommend solutions we can't defend under questioning. And we tell clients when their situation doesn't fit our areas of competence, rather than taking the work and underdelivering. Results depend on many factors including your team's capacity to implement, leadership consistency, and market conditions. We'll be honest with you about those dependencies from day one.
