Manufacturing & assembly
Line balancing, waste reduction, supplier lead-time optimisation. We've worked with light manufacturers in the Rift Valley and Mombasa export processing zones.
Operations consulting
Pandahstone's operations reviews find the leaks — then help you seal them, with implementation support included as standard.
An operations review begins with a week of structured observation and data collection: process maps, cost data, throughput metrics, and conversations with frontline staff — not just managers. From that base, we identify the top three to five inefficiencies ranked by financial impact. Phase two is a prioritised improvement plan with realistic timelines and internal resource requirements. Phase three — which most consulting firms skip — is implementation support: Pandahstone consultants remain available for eight weeks post-delivery to help your teams execute the changes, troubleshoot obstacles, and adjust where reality diverges from the plan. The average operations engagement runs twelve to sixteen weeks end-to-end.
Operations challenges are sector-specific. Here's where our experience is deepest.
Line balancing, waste reduction, supplier lead-time optimisation. We've worked with light manufacturers in the Rift Valley and Mombasa export processing zones.
Loan processing workflows, compliance queue backlogs, and branch operations efficiency for SACCOs and tier-two banks across Kenya.
Cold chain integrity, last-mile delivery costs, and warehouse utilisation for agri-exporters and distributors operating across East Africa's road networks.
Programme delivery efficiency, beneficiary data workflows, and procurement cycle reduction for county governments and development sector organisations.
“Pandahstone mapped our maize processing workflow in three days and identified a bottleneck we had attributed to machinery — it was actually a scheduling decision made in 2019 that nobody had revisited. Fixing it cost us nothing and added 18% to weekly throughput.”
Beatrice Wanjiku, Operations Director, Grain First Ltd
Operations consulting identifies and reduces inefficiency — but it doesn't replace the need for adequate capital investment or capable line management. If your bottlenecks stem primarily from underfunding of critical equipment, Pandahstone will tell you that plainly and won't recommend a process intervention as a substitute. We also don't offer IT systems implementation; if your operations review reveals that a new ERP or inventory system would be the right fix, we'll help you specify the requirements and identify suitable vendors, but the technology deployment is not within our scope.
Describe your biggest operational headache and we'll outline how a review could approach it — within 24 hours.
